All MRC municipalities now require a license for cats and dogs. This measure aims to ensure the safety and well-being of animals in our community.

Important Change for 2025:As of this year, pet identification tags will be permanent. Your pet will keep the same tag year after year. However, annual license renewal remains mandatory. You can complete this process online or at your local municipal office. The renewal procedure is available on the SPCA de l' Outaouais website: www.spcaoutaouais.ca/licences.

2025 License Fees and Availability:

  • Annual license: $20 per animal (cats and dogs)

  • Replacement tag: $5 (available online, shipped by mail)

Renewal Notice:A renewal notice should have been sent in January. If you did not receive it, please contact the SPCA de l'Outaouais by email at licences@spcaoutaouais.ca or by phone at 819-243-2004, option 3.

Why Renew Your Pet’s License?Funds generated from licenses directly support vulnerable animals in the region. Your contribution helps the SPCA de l'Outaouais provide veterinary care, food, and attention needed to improve these animals' lives and help them find loving homes.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the well-being of animals in our community.

The municipality now offers the option to pay via Interac. Please note that only debit cards will be accepted. Credit cards are not accepted at this time.

PUBLIC NOTICE is given by the undersigned, Stacy Lafleur, secretary-treasurer, that the Municipality of Thorne intends to avail itself of the provisions of section 73 of the Municipal Powers Act (CQLR, c. C-47.1) in order to become the owner of the public road base known as part of Garner Road.

The land surveyor’s technical description applies to the public road base known as part of Garner Road.

The resolution number 173-12/2024 adopted on December 10, 2024 by the Municipality of Thorne City Council approved the technical description of the public road land base.

The public road land base is determined in accordance with the technical description of the land surveyor.

In accordance with section 74 of the Municipal Powers Act, a real right that could be asserted in respect of land that is the subject of a description referred to in section 73 is extinguished as of the first publication of the notice provided for in that section.

The holder of a real right extinguished under the first paragraph may, however, claim an indemnity from the municipality as compensation for the loss of the right. Failing an agreement, the amount of the indemnity is determined by the Administrative Tribunal of Québec on the application of the person claiming the indemnity or the municipality, and sections 58 to 68 of the Expropriation Act (chapter E-24) apply, with the necessary modifications.

The right to the indemnity under the second paragraph is prescribed three years after the second publication of the notice in accordance with section 73.
