PUBLIC NOTICE TO THE RATEPAYERS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF THORNE

Public Notice is hereby given by the undersigned Director General of the Municipality of Thorne that a special meeting will be held, on Tuesday August 9th, 2022 at 10 am regarding the recycling contract and the tenders for the shelter and rink.

Amendment during a ban on open fires issued by the provincial authority (SOPFEU)

A notice is hereby given by the Fire Department of the Municipalities of Thorne and Otter Lake that according to our By-laws 10-2018 and 07-03-2012; during a fire ban, all types of fires are prohibited. Remember that this ban is intended to preserve the operational capacity of the SOPFEU and our fire safety service during extreme heat conditions.

Amendment to the Fire Prevention By-law

By resolution on or around January 12, 2021 the Municipalities have accepted by-law 271-2021 providing for the prevention of fires on the territories of the MRC Pontiac.
The new regulations include changes so we advise you to go to the MRC Pontiac website or contact the director of the ISS at 819-647-8789 and he can send you an electronic copy of the said regulation.

Recently, numerous cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been reported in several Canadian provinces. Surveillance of the avian influenza virus in wild birds is necessary to quickly detect the presence of the virus in Québec, which could have consequences for the health of poultry or human health. Your vigilance and collaboration are desirable in order to optimize this monitoring. To do this, report the presence of dead or moribund birds on the territory of your municipality by calling 1 877 346 6763. Do not handle the bird while waiting for instructions.

Public Notice is hereby given by the undersigned Director General of the Municipality of Thorne that the municipal office will be closed for Easter on
Friday April 15th and Monday April 18th, 2022

The transfer station will also be closed on Sunday April 17th, 2022

The Municipality of Thorne will be reopening to the public on February 14th, 2022, at 9 a.m. Only one person at the time will be allowed in the office. The social distance of 2 meters must be respected, hand washing is required before entering the office and masks are mandatory.

Public Notice is hereby given by the undersigned Director General of the Municipality of Thorne that due to Covid-19 regulations that are being imposed, it was decided that the rink will not be done until after the new protection measures are lifted. At that point depending on the weather this decision will be reviewed. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
